Wayward Rabbits SC is a domestic rabbit rescue serving the Upstate of South Carolina; a division of PAWS (Paws Animal Wildlife Sanctuary).
We are a rabbit rescue focusing on neglected, abandoned, or confiscated domestic rabbits from crisis situations. We assess injuries, heal physical and mental traumas, and prepare rabbits for adoption. All are spayed or neutered and vaccinated before adoption.
Wayward Rabbits, established in 2021, is a division of PAWS Animal Wildlife Sanctuary, a 501(c)(3) established in May 2003. Donations support veterinary care, rehabilitation, and rehoming rabbits in our care.
We take in vulnerable domestic rabbits that local shelters and animal control can't house or handle; surrenders, strays, and confiscations.
We help adopters prepare with care classes from House Rabbit Society or Dolly's Dream, plus guidance on settling in and bonding. New adopters can sign up for either care class. Explore classes and resources.
We match rescued rabbits with permanent homes through application review, reference checks, and home visits; see our Adopt page for the full process.
Domestic rabbits are inquisitive, intelligent, social, and affectionate companions. Well-cared-for indoor rabbits typically live 7 to 10+ years; adopting one is a long-term commitment, not a casual decision.
Not sure a rabbit is right for your household? Our Rabbit Care 101 guide gives you the honest, unfiltered version before you apply.
